Life Imitates Farce
"How fabulous," writes Brian Reade in the British tabloid The Mirror. "Thanks to the way it props up the USA's two biggest mortgage firms, more than half of American homes are now effectively owned by the state… Who'd have imagined that when the most right-wing of neo-cons leaves office 50% of the Land of the Free will effectively be [public housing]"?
Yes, almost every imbecilic act we could imagine has become fact. No exaggeration is too extreme. Life imitates farce.

Hey Brits, this subprime debacle began when The Peanut Farmer used social policy to direct U.S. mortgage policy. Slick Willie codified and strong-armed that approach. Wall Street pirhanas then expanded this as far as they could to enrich themselves, with the tacit approval of A. Greenspan and the Bush Administration. The Euro banks saw what a good idea this was and jumped in headfirst.
This crisis is BIPARTISN and INTERNATIONAL all the way to the bottom.
